Coastal Carolina: Coastal Carolina University is seeking a Professional Intern to work with its Baseball Athletic Performance. This position will work directly with both the strength coach and athletic training coordinators for baseball. This is an unpaid position. However, the applicant will receive direct HANDS ON experience with programming, implementation, daily operations of strength and conditioning/fueling routines and styles used in the weight room and in kitchen, and being a part of a National Championship athletic performance team. Applicants must possess or be in pursuit of a BA/BS. Desirable characteristics of applicants include: passionate about working with athletes, very dependable, organized and hard working. Preferential consideration will be made for applicants who have experience playing baseball and/or want to be a baseball strength coach. This is a unique opportunity for interested applicants to gain working knowledge of how we implement our program to make a difference for baseball at Coastal Carolina. There will be opportunities to work with other sports, if desired. This position will begin in August. We will only take two professional interns for this position. VCU: Virginia Commonwealth University Men’s Basketball is accepting applications for their VOLUNTEER internship position starting May 2019 and ending May 2020. This position comes with an opportunity to become a Graduate Assistant the following year (based upon performance). Application review will begin immediately. Job Description: Assist the head strength coach in day-to-day operation of the weight room and on-court activity. Duties include but are not limited to; assisting the head coach in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs, setup and breakdown of equipment, assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the weight room, and maintaining fueling stations. Qualifications: Completed Bachelor’s Degree, desire to attain a Master’s Degree, experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting, and a strong desire to become a basketball strength coach at the collegiate level. Prospective intern must pass a background check to be eligible for the position. Certification: Must be working towards a certification with the CSCCa or NSCA-CSCS. Mercer (FCS – GA): The Mercer University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applicants who are highly motivated for a Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. The Graduate Assistant will report directly to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and will be responsible for up to 3-4 Olympic sports as their respective strength and conditioning coach. Added responsibilities include: primarily assisting with the Football training program, assisting with nutrition, as well as helping implement the overall training programs for all sports. This position requires the Graduate Assistant to maintain a 3.0 GPA while pursuing a Master’s Degree. Compensation includes a $1250 meal stipend per semester, free housing, a tuition waiver, and a small stipend. The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science (or related field), and must also be admitted into a graduate program at Mercer University. Other qualifications include a strong work ethic, attention to detail, enthusiasm, effective communication skills, positive energy, willingness to work, hold certification(s) and/or seeking to get certified in at least one of the major certifications below. Preferences (but not limited to): CPR/AED/First Aid Certified, CSCS, SCCC, USAW. Eastern Kentucky (FCS): Eastern Kentucky University is seeking a Football Sports Performance PAID Intern. The responsibilities of this position are not strictly limited to the following tasks, as other tasks may be assigned under the realm of Eastern Kentucky Football. Assist in the daily set up of strength and conditioning tasks. Assist in the supervision and safety of the Eastern Kentucky University Football Player’s weight training, speed and agility, and conditioning programs. Participate in the overall maintenance of weight room facility and equipment including the cleaning and repair of all equipment used by Eastern Kentucky Sports Performance as well as Eastern Kentucky University Football. Assist in the monitoring and stocking of nutritional supplements each day. Assist in the distribution of post workout nutrition, pre practice nutrition and student athlete snacks. Complete and assist with all other tasks as directed by supervisors and as deemed necessary for the proper implementation of the Eastern Kentucky University Football Sports Performance program.
