Sources tell FootballScoop this evening that Dan Enos is a strong candidate to join Nick Saban's staff in Tuscaloosa.
Enos recently accepted an offensive assistant job at Michigan, with specific duties to be ironed out as the staff picture cleared up. The understanding was that if Pep Hamilton or Tim Drevno were to leave that Enos, with SEC coordinator experience and MAC head coaching experience, would add a coordinator title.
Now, as Saban looks to compile the most talented coaching staff possible, roads have led to conversations with Enos. We understand the possibility of a coordinator title being included at Alabama is a real possibility at this point.
Update>> Pete Thamel tweets that Enos will get the associate head coach title and work with quarterbacks.
It will be interesting to see if Harbaugh steps up to keep Enos in Ann Arbor, or if the lure of working with Saban and the Tide is too strong to resist. It's worth noting that Enos was a freshman quarterback in East Lansing when Nick Saban was there as the defensive coordinator in 1987. Keep in mind - this wouldn't be the first time that Enos left a job late in the off season for another opportunity. Back when he was the head coach at Central Michigan, Enos resigned to take the offensive coordinator job on Bret Bielema's staff at Arkansas on January 22nd of 2015. Earlier this afternoon Sam Webb reported that Enos was "in the mix" for a position on the Tide staff.
