Source tells FootballScoop South Dakota School of Mines plans to make Northwest Missouri State co-offensive coordinator Charlie Flohr their new head coach.

Flohr was selected by prior winners as the 2016 FootballScoop Division II Coordinator of the Year.

Widely regarded as one of the top offensive minds in NCAA Divison II, Flohr has led Northwest's offensive unit to a historic six-year run, capturing three national titles and five MIAA titles. During his 14-year tenure as a Bearcat, the team has won four NCAA titles, captured 10 MIAA titles, going 123-10 in conference play and appeared in seven national championship games.

Northwest finished their season 12-2, losing to Ferris State in the NCAA quarterfinals.

South Dakota School of Mines parted ways with head coach Zach Tinker on November 20th. The program went 3-8 this season, their lowest win total since 2014.
