Brockport State’s Cover 0 Pressure Package: Seems like the influence of University of Michigan’s defensive coordinator Don Brown and his man coverage mindset has spread throughout football. It’s a philosophy that the University of Brockport (NY) defensive coordinator Mike Fox used this season to post some of the best numbers in Division 3 football. Coach Fox’s defense led the nation in rushing defense (6.8 yards per game), 3rd Down Defense (15% success rate), and 4th Down Defense (14% success rate) while finishing in the top 5 statistically in Total Defense, Red Zone Efficiency, Pass Efficiency Defense, Sacks, and Interceptions. In an exclusive clinic report with X&O Labs, Coach Fox details his Cover 0 “Sticks” pressure package which he combined with catch technique coverage to protect defensive backs with a cushion while still matching declared routes. It accounted for nearly 80% of his third and long calls. Click here to start reading this report.
