Ed Marynowitz back with Alabama in off the field role (Featured)

FootballScoop can confirm a report that Ed Marynowitz is back with Alabama after a stint with the Philadelphia Eagles. Aaron Suttles of the Tuscaloosa News first reported the news last week.

Marynowitz was Nick Saban's director of player personnel from 2008-11, helping Saban sign three consecutive No. 1 recruiting classes. Those classes served as the bedrock of four eventual national champions.

Marynowitz left Tuscaloosa as part of Chip Kelly's original staff in Philadelphia as assistant director of pro scouting. He was later promoted to assistant director of player personnel and later as vice president of player personnel.

“Ed is someone who has really impressed me going back to my interview process with the Eagles two years ago,” Kelly said of Marynowitz at the time. “He’s very bright, detailed, organized and his vision was aligned with what we want to accomplish. I spoke with a lot of people outside of our organization over the past few weeks and in the end, Ed was the most impressive.”

“I can’t tell you how well thought of Ed is in the scouting business. What many people in the football community told me matched exactly what I thought of him from Day One.”

Marynowitz was let go by the Eagles in late December, and now will assist Saban by working with the Tide's player personnel and operations departments.
