Zac Taylor to return in Cincinnati (NFL)

Zac Taylor will return for a third season as head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals, team owner Mike Brown announced Monday.

Taylor holds a 6-25-1 record through two seasons.

Cincinnati went 2-14 in 2019, coming off a 6-10 campaign under Marvin Lewis in 2018.

The club drafted Joe Burrow with the first pick in the 2020 draft and improved to 4-11-1 despite losing Burrow for the year to injury in early December.

"We remain bullish on the foundation Zac is building, and we look forward to giving our fans the winning results we all want," Brown said. "We must capitalize on opportunities in front of us. Next year we will earn our stripes."

Though Taylor will return, there will be a number of changes to his staff. FootballScoop previously reported offensive line coach Jim Turner and running backs coach Jemal Singleton are expected to leave for college jobs. Sports Illustrated reported defensive line coach Nick Eason, wide receivers coach Bob Bicknell and defensive assistant Gerald Chatman, and more changes are expected as well.
