The first time I remember seeing a video of moms tackling their sons at a camp-style event was last year, and it originated with a high school (the best I can recall).
It didn't take that video long to go viral, and if your community is anything like the one I coach in, that video was likely sent to you at least five times from parents, boosters, or community members.
Matt Rhule clearly was among those that took a mental note of that original videos popularity.
During an event for Husker moms, Nebraska staff spent some time talking about safety and tackling technique before rolling into a Tackle my Son event that saw the moms get suited up, complete with their name on the back of their uniform and their sons number, and each one got a free shot to tee off on their offspring.
It's funny to watch some of the moms use a delicate touch, while others approach their son full tilt with no mercy.
In a fun twist, Huskers staffers sat at a table and ranked the hits on a scale of 1-10, and some of the moms earned high marks for their hits.
Looks like a blast for all involved, and a unique way to create lasting memories - which I'm always a sucker for.
