Utah offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig stepping down (Utah)

After losing three consecutive games for the first time since 2017, Utah offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig is stepping down.

After finishing second to last in offense in the Pac-12 last season, the Utes offense is near the bottom of the Big-12 this season.

Ludwig was in his second stint as offensive coordinator for the Utes. After serving as OC in Salt Lake from 2005-08, he would go on to serve as OC at Cal, San Diego State, Wisconsin and Vanderbilt before returning to the U of U in 2019.

Following last night's loss vs TCU, Kyle Whittingham told reporters decisions would be made in the next 48 hours concerning staffing. This evening, one of those decisions has been made.

Sources tell FootballScoop, Mike Bajakian is expected to take on a larger role in connection with Ludwig's exit. Bajakian, the former offensive coordinator at Northwestern, joined the Utah staff this past off-season. Bajakian has served as offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Bucs, at Tennessee, Cincinnati, Boston College and more.

Ludwig, 60, is expected to have plenty of options to continue coaching should he choose to do so.
