Tulsa parts ways with Kevin Wilson (Tulsa)

Tulsa has announced their decision to part ways with head coach Kevin Wilson.

The former Ohio State co-offensive coordinator has spent two seasons leading the Golden Hurricane.

He is 7-16 in those two seasons, with a 3-8 record this fall.

The decision comes after a 63-30 loss to South Florida yesterday.

Wilson's opportunity at Tulsa was his second head coaching opportunity. He led Indiana for six seasons from 2011-16, building them into a program that was at the bottom of the Big Ten to two straight bowl trips. He ended with a 26-47 record with the Hoosiers after back-to-back six-win seasons.

He landed on the staff at Ohio State in 2017 and has also held the offensive coordinator title at Miami (OH), Northwestern, and Oklahoma.

Wilson was let go in Bloomington just prior to the Hoosier's second straight bowl trip.

The job vacancy marks the 6th job within the American Athletic Conference to open this cycle.

Wide receivers coach Ryan Switzer, a former standout at North Carolina, is stepping into the interim head coach role.
