James Franklin: The Penn State head coach offered some great sage advice for coaches considering other opportunities on a recent podcast.

Alderson Broaddus (D-II – WV): Alderson Broaddus University is seeking applications for the position of restricted earnings wide receivers or tight ends/running backs coach. This is a ten-month coaching position that pays 16k and meals, no housing.  Job Responsibilities include: coaching a position, director of equipment technologies, uploading/breaking down video on Hudl, working with special teams as assigned, holding position meetings, managing your own recruiting area, assisting with day-to-day offensive and special teams preparation, managing your position’s academic progress and any other areas assigned by the Head Coach or Coordinators. Applicants must be able to work with students, faculty, staff and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and knowledge or experience in recruiting student athletes. Concordia Chicago (D-III - IL): Concordia University Chicago is hiring graduate assistants for both offense and defense. The positions start July 31. Benefits include on schedule graduate tuition and a weekly stipend. There is NO room or meals. Full Position Coach, Recruiter, Duties assigned by Head Coach and or Coordinator. Dakota Wesleyan (NAIA - SD): Dakota Wesleyan is seeking Graduate Assistant preferably Tight Ends, or best fit on Defense. This position will also be a Resident Director of a dorm on campus. This position will report to the Director of Residence Life as well as the Head Football Coach. This position will require passing a background check and acceptance into the Master of Arts in Education program before an offer can be made. A minimum of a 2.75 GPA will be required for acceptance into the Master program. The successful candidate will receive housing on campus, a meal plan during the school year, monthly stipend for 10 months (Aug-May) and 2/3 tuition waiver. Pac-12: Rumors of the Pac-12's impending demise have not made it to the Rocky Mountains

Missouri: Eli Drinkwitz has promoted cornerbacks coach Al Pogue to assistant head coach, replacing the title formerly held by offensive line coach Marcus Johnson. "Coach Pogue has that mix of veteran coaching experience in this league, coupled with tremendous energy and strong connection with our players," Drinkwitz said. 

Oklahoma Panhandle State (NAIA): OPSU is in search of an Defensive Coordinator. The Assistant Coach will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of administering the football program, including coaching, recruiting, and sports performance. The coach will provide individual and team instruction to student-athletes on rules and fundamentals, pre-competition activities, skill attainment, techniques, and methods required to demonstrate satisfactory performance in a safe manner. The coach will need to effectively recruit new student-athletes that have the ability to achieve success academically and athletically at OPSU. This is a 12 month position. Texas: Athletic director Chris Del Conte, whose name has come up as a potential candidate for the USC AD job, shares via Kirk Bohls that he's staying in Austin. "I have no interest in any other job. Who you work for matters. I work for an incredible president who is taking Texas to new heights. I'm blessed to be here."

Northwestern Oklahoma State (D-II): Northwestern is seeking qualified applicants for a graduate assistant opening. The position will work on the offensive side of the ball, experience working with Offensive Line is preferred. You would be responsible for running your own meeting room, drills, film cut ups, and be a part of the offense run game. Duties will also include recruiting a specific area, academic monitoring, some equipment and laundry duties. Additional duties may be assigned by the head coach, offensive coordinator or the director of athletics. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and a valid driver’s license. Strong communication skills and ability to recruit high academic and quality student-athletes is a must. Experience with hudl digital editing system is a must. Compensation includes full tuition remission, housing, meal plan, and $500 monthly stipend. Avila (NAIA - MO): Avila University is officially accepting applications for a restricted earnings position coaching the Offensive Line. Though the position does not include benefits or grad school, there is potential for housing. Salary is around $12,000 over 12 months. This position includes coaching the offensive line on the field, position meetings, as well as all things that go along with coaching; recruiting; organize official and unofficial visits; assist with practice, game preparations, and planning of travel itineraries; assist the head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring, fundraising, game management and scheduling and any other duties assigned by the Head Coach or offensive Coordinator. Lackawanna College (JC - PA): Lackawanna College has an opening for 2 Intern positions. This will be an entry level job that includes a $5,000 stipend, some meals, and housing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to film breakdown, data entry, recruiting, assisting with game preparation, helping with the placement of student athletes and all other duties assigned by the head coach. Applicants need to be experienced with Hudl, Excel, and Microsoft Power Point. This position is directed towards someone who is trying to begin a career in the coaching profession. This position will provide valuable experience and references for future opportunities. Previous coaches have used this position to springboard their careers to graduate assistants at 4 year schools, as well as coordinator position’s at the college and high school level. San Diego Mesa College (CC - CA): San Diego Mesa is looking to hire a defensive line coach. This will be a stipend position with potential for adjunct classes based on experience and educational requirements being met. West Virginia State (D-II): West Virginia State is currently seeking 2 Restricted Earnings Coaches (1 Offense & 1 Defense) for the football program. Responsibilities include certain aspects of the football program such as recruiting, coaching a position group, assisting with the offense/defense, and any other responsibilities given by the head football coach. Positions include a monthly stipend and housing. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. These positions are perfect for a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and an interest in gaining direct work experience at the NCAA Division II level. Virginia Union (D-II - VA): Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia has an opening for a Part-Time Defensive Line Coach. The Assistant Football Coach (DL) reports to the Head Football Coach and is responsible for assisting the Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator in carrying out all activities necessary to accomplish the objectives of the program within the guidelines of the NCAA, CIAA, and Virginia Union University. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruiting an assigned territory with the successful recruitment of prospective student-athletes, and practice/game planning. The successful candidate will have a history of coaching Defensive Line. Bachelor's degree required, and the completion of a successful background check. LOCAL CANDIDATES are encouraged to apply.
