Ball Tonight: Five bowl games throughout the day today including one College Football Quarterfinal game. Alabama faces Michigan (12pm EST on ESPN - ReliaQuest Bowl), Louisville against Washington (2pm EST on CBS - Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl), South Carolina against Illinois (3pm EST on ABC - Cheez-It Citrus Bowl), Baylor vs LSU (3:30pm EST on ESPN) and Penn State against Boise State (7:30pm EST on ESPN - CFB Playoff Quarterfinal game and VRBO Fiesta Bowl).

South Dakota State (FCS): New Mexico defensive coordinator Dan Jackson, a former Jackrabbit player and assistant, has been named head coach at his alma mater.

Bret Bielema v. Shane Beamer: During the Citrus Bowl, Bret Bielema directed a taunt toward Shane Beamer and South Carolina's coach came unglued

Florida Atlantic: Happy to report sources share that Roc Bellantoni has been retained at FAU. Going forward, Roc will serve as assistant head coach / defensive ends & outside backers. 

New York Jets: Former Panthers and Commanders head coach Ron Rivera will interview for the head coaching job on Thursday, per multiple reports.

Kennesaw State: Last week we shared that Marc Mattioli was joining Jerry Mack's staff. Today, sources share Mattioli will serve as defensive coordinator. 

Fresno State: After two seasons as the linebackers coach and special teams coordinator at Northern Illinois, Adam Breske is expected to join the Fresno State staff as linebackers coach, per Pete Thamel.

East Tennessee State: Sources tell FootballScoop Western Kentucky's Brayden Herdic is headed to ETSU as the program's new safeties coach. Herdic has worked with WKU's defensive backs the past few seasons. 

West Virginia: The program has now officially retained Chad Scott as running backs coach. 

Dallas Cowboys: In addition to head coach Mike McCarthy working on an expiring deal, Albert Breer shared today that most of the Cowboys assistant coaches are also set to have their contracts expire soon after the end of the season as well.

Fresno State: Corners coach JD Williams is being retained on Matt Entz's staff, the program has announced. Running backs coach Aaron Prier is also being retained. 

North Carolina: CBS Sports shares that "the current belief" is that Freddie Kitchens, the former NFL head coach who coached the Tar Heels tight ends last year, will be Bill Belichick's offensive coordinator. Retaining Kitchens was among Belichick's first personnel moves upon taking the UNC job.

Eastern New Mexico (D-II): Eastern New Mexico University is looking to hire a defensive GA. Pay is $10k a year you have to take and pay for 6-9 hours. Position is best available. Contact coach Perkins at brandon.perkins@enmu.edu.

Arkansas State: Sources tell FootballScoop Butch Jones plans to promote Nick Grimes to offensive line coach. Grimes, who has coached the tight ends the past two seasons, has served as interim offensive line coach since Andy Kwon was hired by UCLA. Prior to these two seasons at A-State, Grimes previously was tight ends coach at UAB and prior to that was offensive coordinator at Campbell University. 

Appalachian State: Curtis Fuller has formally joined the staff as a defensive assistant after two seasons at Coastal Carolina where he coached the corners.

San Francisco 49ers: Team owner Jed York shared today that head coach Kyle Shanahan and GM John Lynch will be back with the team next fall despite a disappointing 6-10 campaign heading into the season's final week.

UCF: Brandon Harris, who most recently served as co-defensive coordinator at FAU, is expected to join Scott Frost's staff as defensive backs coach.

Eastern Washington (FCS): Receivers coach Jeff McDaniels has added the title of co-offensive coordinator sources share. Prior to EWU, McDaniels was the senior offensive analyst at Auburn University and was previously at Boise State.

Miami: Changes to the defensive side of the ball are coming to South Beach.

Western Illinois (FCS): Sources tell FootballScoop the Leathernecks are adding a former FCS head coach to run the defense.

Western Kentucky: Sources tell FootballScoop defensive line coach Carson Hall has added the run game coordinator title.

Mississippi State: College coaching veteran Paul Rhoads has accepted a defensive analyst role on Jeff Lebby's staff. Rhoads, who has well over three decades of experience in college football including as the head coach at Iowa State, spent last season with Mark Hudspeth on staff at Gulf Shores HS (MS).

Western Kentucky: Abilene Christian (FCS - TX) offensive coordinator Rick Bowie is expected to join the staff as the team's new quarterbacks coach / offensive play caller. 

Coastal Carolina: A former Mike Leach assistant will reportedly be the new offensive coordinator for the Chanticleers.

Virginia Tech: Brent Pry shared yesterday that former Hokies defensive coordinator Bud Foster (who retired at the end of the 2019 season) will be stepping in to assist in the booth during the Duke's Mayo Bowl and Shawn Quinn will serve as the defensive play-caller for the game. The moves come as Pry let go of defensive coordinator Chris Marve and two other assistants earlier this month.

NC State: The new defensive coordinator for the Wolf Pack reportedly comes with SEC and Big 12 coordinator experience.

Western Kentucky: Da'Von Brown and Davis Merritt are expected to be co-defensive coordinators with Brown serving as the play caller, according to CBS Sports. Both have been with the program the last two seasons, with Brown working in the secondary after previously working at Ole Miss, and Merritt mentoring the inside linebackers after two seasons on staff at Georgia. 

Wisconsin: CBS Sports shares that senior defensive analyst Jack Cooper, who has been on staff the past two seasons, is being elevated to safeties coach. Cooper is the former defensive coordinator at Rhode Island (FCS) and also has prior stops at Nebraska and UCF.

West Virginia: Defensive quality control coach Dustin Lawless has not been retained.

Sacramento State (FCS - CA): The program has announced the addition of Lem Adams (offensive quality control), and Marshawn Friloux (player personnel).

Northern Michigan (D-II): Northern Michigan is looking to hire an Offensive Assistant (RBs or WRs) & Defensive Assistant (LBs or DL). Possibilities for Special Teams/Recruiting Coordinator roles. Interested applicants please send email to head coach shanrich@nmu.edu & apply via this link.

College of DuPage (JC - IL): College of DuPage is seeking candidates to fill multiple OFFENSIVE position coach roles. Best available candidates will determine the positions. The positions come with a generous 10-month stipend and flexible schedule. Candidates that are local to the Chicagoland area, or have a local living arrangement, are encouraged to apply. Minimum requirements are a Bachelor’s degree, collegiate playing and/or coaching experience, and morning availability. Off field responsibilities may include roles in team academics, incoming and outgoing recruiting, football operations, etc. No Benefits, housing, or meals are included; there is the potential for additional compensation through camps or teaching. New Mexico State: The Aggies are landing a former Broyles Award semifinalist as their new offensive coordinator, and have another offensive hire on the way, sources tell FootballScoop.
