Toledo’s Multi-Puller Counter Scheme: If you’ve watched any part of MAC-tion this season, you would know that the Rockets may have the best backfield tandem in the country with Perry Boone and Dequan Finn combining for over 1,900 total yards. And much of Toledo’s eleven wins this season can be credited to multiple puller runs, the brainchild of offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Mike Hallett’s system. X&O Labs been working with Coach Hallett since his days as the head coach at Heidelberg University, but what he’s done this year with his front has been astonishing. Every lineman up front can pull, which is why Coach Hallett has devised three puller gap schemes to take advantage of the prevalence of the Odd fronts he sees on a weekly basis. Read the full story.

Duke: Duke has announced Manny Diaz as its new head coach. 

Florida State: Florida State is working on a 3-year extension for defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, per ESPN.

Louisiana Tech: La Tech plans to hire Northern Iowa defensive coordinator Jeremiah Johnson to the same role, according to Chris Hummer of 247Sports. Johnson spent 2022 at Kent State.

Georgia Tech: Sources tell FootballScoop Brent Key is making significant changes on to the defensive staff

College GameDay: GameDay will be in Foxborough for Army-Navy on Saturday, and the guest picker will be the coach of the local pro football team

Charlotte: Sal Sunseri is a target to join Charlotte's staff, sources tell FootballScoop. Additionally, with Tim Brewster joining the staff as tight ends / associate head coach John Morookian is moving to offensive line. Also, receivers coach Mike Hartline is no longer withe program. Offensive analyst Jason Barnes is moving up to receivers coach. 

West Georgia (D-II): Per source, Joel Taylor has hired Mercer defensive backs coach Mike Adams as defensive coordinator. Former coordinator Nate Masters has been retained but has been moved to safeties coach. 

Lamar (FCS - TX): Lamar University Football is now accepting applications for their open Special Teams Graduate Assistant starting in January 2024. Previous experience is required (kickers/punters preferred), and the candidate must be accepted into one of Lamar University’s graduate programs. All Interested applicants should email a resume and list of references to our Director of Football Operations, Jacob Diaz at jdiaz42@lamar.edu Review of application materials will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled. Kansas: Former Baylor offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes is expected to take the same job at KU, sources confirmed to FootballScoop.

South Carolina State (FCS): SC State's new head coach is a good one.

American: AAC commissioner Mike Aresco has announced his retirement, effective at the conclusion of the 2023-24 academic year. Aresco has run the conference since its inception in 2012. 

Cornell: Sources tell FootballScoop Cornell is planning to hire Dan Swanstrom as their next head coach. 

East Carolina: East Carolina is set to hire an offensive line coach with experience across FBS, sources tell FootballScoop.

Indiana: Sources share with FootballScoop that Charlotte corners coach Rod Ojong is headed to Indiana to join Curt Cignetti's staff in the same capacity. Ojong previously coached defensive backs at Buffalo, Furman and Austin Peay, and served as an analyst at Georgia. 

Colorado: Oklahoma assistant offensive line coach and former NFL player Phil Loadholt is expected to become offensive line coach at Colorado Brian Howell has shared. 

JMU: James Madison is planning to make Holy Cross head coach Bob Chesney their next head coach multiple outlets have shared this morning. 

East Tennessee State (FCS): ETSU is looking to hire a Director of On Campus Recruiting. This position will report directly to the Director of Football Operations. This position will handle; game day visits, unofficial visits, official visits, junior day, and newcomer transition. Mississippi State: The Bulldogs are making another strong hire on the defensive side, sources tell FootballScoop, adding a current FBS defensive coordinator in a co-defensive coordinator role.

Wyoming: Head coach Craig Bohl has announced he will retire following the Cowboys' bowl game. Jay Sawvel is the new head coach of the Cowboys. 

Texas A&M: Duke director of player personnel Allen Gaudet IV has accepted the same role at A&M. Also, Duke scouting assistant Shaun Cook is joining the Aggies as assistant director of player personnel.

Texas A&M: Before pivoting to eventual hire Collin Klein, Texas A&M pursued the offensive coordinator of an SEC West rival, sources tell FootballScoop.

Wild NIL Idea: Could stadiums and broadcasts promoting in-game donations for players making plays actually work? It's a heck of an idea from a coaching veteran.
