UCLA: Longtime NFL assistant Juan Castillo is expected to take over as offensive line coach at UCLA per reports.
Alabama: Former Washington co-defensive coordinator / safeties coach Chuck Morrell and former Huskies strength and conditioning coach Ron McKeefery, as well as former Washington executive assistant Ali Smith have all joined Kalen DeBoer's staff in Tuscaloosa. Morrell and McKeefery are listed as special assistants while Smith will serve in the same role she did at UW. Also, Jay Nunez's official title is special assistant to the head coach / senior special teams analyst. Georgia Military College (JC): Georgia Military College is searching for an Entry-Level Defensive Assistant coach to fill an opening on its Junior College football staff. Position will be based on the best fit. The responsibilities will include off the field areas such as academic oversight/coordination of student athletes, assisting in the Strength & Conditioning program, assist in monitoring housing areas of student athletes, and other duties to be determined by the Head Coach/Athletic Director that support the football program and the overall development of our student athletes. This is a $5,000 stipend position with house + some meals. All applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree to be considered for this position. Richmond (FCS): Justin Poindexter, who joined the program as running backs coach in May of 2022, has left the staff for a new opportunity.
Missouri: Former Northern Arizona (FCS) head coach Chris Ball has accepted a position on the Mizzou staff.
Mount St. Joseph (D-III - OH): Wide receivers coach Darold Hughes has been elevated to offensive coordinator. The moves comes following the departure of Caleb Corrill to St. Thomas (FCS - MN) last week as their new offensive coordinator.
Southwestern College (JC - CA): Jake Constantine, the former quarterback at Rice and Weber State (FCS - UT), has accepted the offensive coordinator / quarterbacks job on staff.
Independence CC (JC - KS): Independence Community College is looking for two volunteer defensive coaches to join the staff. Priority will be given to DBs and DL. This position is unpaid but housing and meals are provided. These positions are great for young coaches looking to get into collegiate coaching and expand your coaching network while refining your own skills in coaching and recruiting. San Francisco 49ers: KJ Wright announced on his podcast this morning that he is joining the 49ers as an assistant linebackers coach.
Georgia State: John Adams, who led Cedar Grove HS (GA) to two state titles in his two seasons leading the program, is expected to join the staff as a defensive assistant coach, per 247.
Carroll (NAIA - MT): Carroll College has an opening for a restricted earnings Defensive Assistant coach (DB background preferred). The right candidate will be able to run their own position room, with a possible recruiting area as well. Susquehanna (D-III - PA): Susquehanna University is seeking applicants for a restricted earnings position working with the wide receivers. Compensation is $10,000, housing and meals. Preferred candidates will have prior experience playing or coaching. Candidates will be responsible for coaching their own position group, on the road recruiting in a specific area, film editing/breakdown (HUDL), and all other duties assigned by the head football coach. Utah: Utah is adding an offensive coordinator with experience in three different Power 4 leagues to its support staff, sources tell FootballScoop.
UCLA: Sources tell FootballScoop that UCLA is planning to part ways with offensive line coach Tim Drevno.
Oklahoma: Brent Venables and the Sooners are reportedly adding a veteran offensive coordinator to their support staff.
North Carolina: Sources tell FootballScoop the Tar Heels are hiring a former SEC and Pac-12 coordinator to their support staff.
New Haven (FCS): University of New Haven has a position open working with the Defensive Backs. This is a restricted earning position for a duration of 10 months with a salary of $15,000. Miami Dolphins: Matt O'Donnell has joined the organization as a defensive assistant. He previously spent two seasons on staff at Brown (FCS) as defensive line coach / recruiting coordinator and prior to that was in a special teams / defensive analyst role at Duke.
Kansas State: Longtime NFL Special teams coach Nate Kaczor, who spent the last five years with the Commanders as special teams coordinator, is set to join the staff as special teams analyst, per 247.
USC: Last week we shared that TCU's Anthony Jones was at the center of USC's running backs search. Multiple outlets are now reporting the deal is now in place.
UCLA: According to a report over the weekend, DeShaun Foster is bringing a former All American back, who most recently coached at some of the top high schools in Cali, to coach the linebackers.
Steve Spagnuolo: Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo had his contract expire following their Super Bowl win over the 49ers, and after the Niners parted ways with Steve Wilks, Kyle Shanahan tried to bring Spags to San Francisco, per multiple reports over the weekend. Spagnuolo ended up signing a new contract to stay with the Chiefs that is reportedly worth more than $5 million per season.
Mary Hardin-Baylor (D-III - TX): University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is looking for games Week 2-September 14th, Week 4-September 28th or Week 8- October 26th in 2024. Preferred Home-Home 2024/2025. St. Scholastica (D-III - MN): The College of St. Scholastica located in Duluth, MN is looking to hire an offensive skill (WR or RB) restricted earnings position. This position will be responsible for coaching and managing their own position group along with having their own recruiting areas. In addition, job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting in weekly game preparation, coaching special teams, managing equipment, taking care of facilities and any other duties assigned by the Head Coach or Coordinator.
