Winona State's Brian Bergstrom Discusses B.A.B. Tags in Man Pressures: Man pressures rely so much on generating match-ups. But one bad pressure call by a DC can result in the offensive exploiting a one-on-one for an explosive play. So, Winona State University (MN) head football coach Brian Bergstrom categorizes his man pressures in three areas: field, boundary and interior. And the player that activates is solely based on a series of tags (or pre-snap code words) relative to passing strength, formation surface or to the back in protection. These tags have been extremely effective in making sure the right defender is in the pressure and the right defender is in coverage. Read more about Bergstrom's B.A.B. tags here.
