Toledo's Offensive Line Coach Mike Hallett Shares His Open Side Leverage Pulls in Mid Zone: The open side (two surface) mid zone can be a very productive run scheme, but what if a play side 2i prevents the Center/Guard combo from getting to the point linebacker? It was an issue University of Toledo offensive line coach Mike Hallett encountered, so he started treating his mid-zone like a man scheme. His answer was to pull the Center, term it a different concept (F Mid Zone) and it resulted in an efficiency of 7.4 yards per carry this season. Houston Christian (FCS): Peter Chung has been hired as the school's director of player personnel. Chung, who is 21, is believed to be the youngest individual in that role in college football.

Tennessee Tech: Sources tell FootballScoop Brandon Blackman is the new corners coach at Tennessee Tech. He was most recently at New Mexico as the receivers coach. He coached defensive backs at Western Illinois and was at Arizona State prior to that. He will also assist with special teams we are told.
Syracuse: Manny Harris has joined the staff as an offensive analyst working with the quarterbacks, sources tell FootballScoop. Harris previously served as the wide receivers coach at Northwestern State (FCS - LA).
Dayton (FCS - OH): New Hampshire (FCS) safeties coach John Bowes has been announced as the new defensive coordinator and former Western Michigan tight ends coach Greg Whalen is the team's new offensive coordinator.
Carolina Panthers: Mack Brown and the Tar Heels are losing a coordinator to the Panthers.
Denver Broncos: Chis Banjo, a special teamer who was just released by the Cardinals, has landed as assistant special teams coach with the Broncos, per Mike Klis.
BYU: Kyan Brumfield has joined the staff as a graduate assistant, where he will assist with the corners.
Arizona Cardinals: Miami Dolphins assistant defensive line coach Derrick LeBlanc is being hired as defensive line coach, per multiple reports.
Shepherd (D-II - WV): Shepherd is seeking a full-time defensive coaching position (with defensive line playing or coaching experience). Candidates will be responsible for coaching their own position group, will also have special team responsibilities, breaking down film (HUDL), recruiting qualified student athletes, use of ARMS recruiting software, Visio, knowledge of graphic design, Adobe Photoshop software, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, as well as other duties assigned by the Defensive Coordinator and Head Coach. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree and valid driver’s license is required. Experience working in strength and conditioning at collegiate level. Denver Broncos: Former Broncos head coach Vance Joseph is returning to Denver as defensive coordinator.
Cleveland Browns: Ben Bloom will be the new defensive line coach in Cleveland, Albert Breer reports. Bloom was the team's run game coordinator the last two seasons and will replace Chris Kiffin, who left to take a job on DeMeco Ryans’ staff in Houston.
