Pacific: Pacific Tigers Athletic Performance is accepting applications for volunteer internship positions for the upcoming fall semester. Start date is August 28th and will run through November 24th. These are UNPAID positions. Interested candidates should have or be working toward a degree in Exercise Science or a related field and possess or currently pursuing CSCS or SCCC certifications. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a strong desire to pursue collegiate Athletic Performance. Candidates will have opportunities to work with all 17 Division-1 sports, gain experience with sport science technologies such as VALD equipment (force plates, Smart Speed timing gates, Dynamo, and Air Bands) and PUSH Velocity Based Training units. Candidates will also have the opportunity to work through a comprehensive coach development program centered around preparing them for their first full time or graduate assistant role. Old Dominion: The Old Dominion University Sports Performance department is now accepting applications for 2 UNPAID positions for the Fall 2023 semester. This internship will begin in August and expect to last till the end of the Fall semester. Depending on performance, these interns may be asked to return for the Spring semester. Those chosen will gain valuable experience working within a Division 1 sports performance department while assisting with the design and implementation of the sports performance programs for football, field hockey, rowing, and lacrosse. In addition, those chosen will gain experience working with sports science modalities and data analyzation. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision and execution of the sports performance programs, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facility, assisting with nutrition station duties, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a strong desire to become a Sports Performance professional. In addition, one should be pursuing or have their CSCS or a relevant certification (CSCS, SCCC, PES, or USAW). Detroit Mercy: The University of Detroit Mercy Strength and Conditioning department has an immediate opening for a Graduate Assistant. The position will be responsible for the performance programs of the Track and Field, Golf, and Fencing teams as well as assisting with other sports as assigned. Qualified candidates hold their CSCS/CSCCa certification, a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field, and have experience as an intern at the collegiate level.
