Hawai'i: The University of Hawai‘i Football Strength and Conditioning staff is now accepting applications for (3) THREE UNPAID INTERNSHIP positions for the WINTER 2024 training block. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assisting with the supervision and execution of the weight room and running program for the football team, set up, breakdown, and clean-up of the daily training, maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of other assigned tasks. Interns would be required to volunteer 20-25 hour/week. Required qualifications include initiative, a strong sense of urgency, solid work ethic, effective communication skills, attentiveness, and the completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study. As well as the desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. Interns will be provided with an educational curriculum to complete throughout their time serving the Hawai‘i football team. The curriculum will cover current discussion topics in strength and conditioning, force-velocity profiling, programming, and development. Successful completion may result in interns being asked to stay on through the Summer 2024 training period. As a reminder, no financial compensation will be provided. Texas State: Texas State University is currently accepting applications for WINTER/SPRING 2024 volunteer internship positions. These positions are from January 8th-May 3rd. Qualified candidates would work within all aspects of a NCAA Division 1 FBS FOOTBALL strength & conditioning program. This is an UNPAID position. However, the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as education in VBT, GPS, data management, program design, and S&C curriculum. The position is responsible for assisting the FOOTBALL strength & conditioning staff with implementation of the program, set up and break down of workouts, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and must possess a strong work ethic. Abilene Christian (FCS - TX): Abilene Christian University is currently accepting applications for a PAID Strength & Conditioning intern for Spring 2024. A $1000/month stipend along with free housing will be provided. This is a 12-month appointed position at will. This position includes assistance with the football program along with programming and implementation of 1-2 sports on their own. Minimum requirements include a certified strength and conditioning certification (CSCS or SCCC), CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Other preferred qualifications include previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, daily, weekly, and semester-long professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff.
