Eastern Illinois: Eastern Illinois University is seeking to fill a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning position that will begin in the Summer of 2023. Responsibilities: Assist with Football Performance, program design/implementation for 2-3 assigned teams, weight room supervision and upkeep, daily communication with sport coaches and athletic trainers, and other duties assigned by the Director of Football Performance. Required: Bachelor’s Degree, current CSCS/SCCC and CPR/AED certifications, and previous S&C coaching experience (Internships included). UW-Whitewater (D-III): The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Track and Field Strength & Conditioning Program is accepting internship applications for the Fall 2023 semester or the entire academic year (INTERNATIONAL CANDIDATES ARE WELCOME TO APPLY!). Preferred starting dates will be September 4th, 2023, and a preferred end date of December 10th, 2023 (Timelines are negotiable). No monetary compensation will be provided. The volunteer internship will involve active experience with both Top 25 Nationally Ranked NCAA Division III Track and Field programs. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES of the VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP will include but are not limited to assisting in the implementation of the Strength and Conditioning programs; set up and break down for daily activities. This will ideally be a great internship opportunity that will allow you to get immediate hands on experience working specifically with track and field S&C as well as sprint practices. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a strong work ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning/and or track and field professional. Interns are expected to be punctual, enthusiastic, reliable, productive and consistent along with having the financial capability to hold the position for the duration of the internship. Ideal candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework earning an undergraduate degree in exercise science or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (NSCA, CSCS; CSCCa, SCCC; USAW) is preferred but not required. Fairmont State: Fairmont State University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is currently accepting applications for ONE Graduate Assistant position within the Strength & Conditioning department. This position is a TWO-YEAR commitment, occurring during the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic periods. Under the supervision of the Head Strength & Conditioning coach, the successful candidate will assist with the strength & conditioning programs for all 17 varsity teams. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training programs specifically for 4-5 athletic teams, assigned at the discretion of the Head S&C coach. This position will require weight room supervision, facility and equipment maintenance, and data collection. This position also requires consistent communication with the Head S&C coach, sports medicine staff, sport coaches and athletic administration, when neccessary. Opportunities for development will include first-hand experience with power testing (Just Jump Mat), speed & agility testing (Dashr Timing System), body composition analysis (In-Body), Velocity-Based Training (Vitruve), and programming/remote training technology (Trian Heroic). This position includes a full IN-STATE (WV) tuition waiver and a $4,000 per semester stipend. Additional compensation opportunities will be offered during the summer periods. The final candidate will be expected to start in late-July 2023. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field AND acceptance into Fairmont State University’s Exercise Science Master’s program. Candidates must have CSCS and/or SCCC or have plans to become certified PRIOR to the start date. Candidates must also have First Aid/CPR/AED certification PRIOR to the start date. At least one year of previous coaching or internship experience is required. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with experience working in a collegiate or professional setting, specifically experience working with football, will be given higher consideration. Additional preference will be given to candidates that participated in collegiate athletics.
