Marshall: Marshall: Marshall University Football Strength and Conditioning is seeking Volunteer Interns for Summer 2024. Volunteers will gain valuable experience working within a Division 1 program assisting in the implementation of all training sessions for the Summer training phase. Qualifications for this position include an elite work ethic, a positive attitude, and an eagerness to grow and learn as you progress through your career journey. Applicants should be working toward NSCA-CSCS, or CSCCa-SCCC certifications. No monetary benefits will be provided; however, applicants will gain valuable hands-on experience serving our athletes. Volunteers will be assisting in daily set-up and breakdown of all training sessions, maintenance of the training facility, as well as completion of professional development assignments throughout the semester as you continue to progress as a professional in the field of Strength & Conditioning. The internship will begin tentatively on May 13th and will go through July 31st , with the possibility of staying on for the 2024 season. Responsibilities for individuals applying for the positions will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: setting up and breaking down of training sessions, assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, data collection, as well as other assigned duties. MINIMUM qualifications: possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and an unwavering desire to become a strength and conditioning professional; must hold current CPR, AED, and FIRST AID certifications. PREFERRED qualifications: Must have completed or are currently working toward completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science /or a related course of study; possess or be working towards certification through the CSCCa, NSCA, and/or USAW; one year of previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletics experience. PREFERRED qualifications: Must have completed or are currently working toward completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science /or a related course of study; if undergraduate or graduate degree in an unrelated field, one must show technical understanding and or proof of concept for entry level skills within assigned duties. There will be (2) positions assigned to assist with the Football Strength and Conditioning staff and (2) positions assigned to assist the Director of Sport Science.
