Maryland: University of Maryland Football Performance is accepting applications for (1-2) Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Interns for the Spring Semester 2021 (January 25 – May 11, 2021). Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs specific to football, proper movement preparation, development and execution of speed & conditioning protocols, execution of proper motivational techniques, and most importantly developing an understanding of the health, safety, and wellness of collegiate athletes. CSCCa mentorship program will be available for selected candidates seeking to obtain the SCCC certification. Those candidates who are selected for SCCC certification must complete the requirements set forth by the CSCCa. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or be in the last year of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or related field of study. Certification from one or both of the following (NSCA-CSCS, USAW). We will provide CPR/AED training to those who do not currently hold certifications by an accredited certification agency. Expectations: We are very selective in looking for special individuals to have around our players and staff. This position is designed to give you a TRUE experience in what it takes to be a collegiate strength coach at the division 1 level specific to football. It is also designed to equip candidates with the proper tools to be a successful graduate assistant and/or full-time coach. Averett:

Averett: Averett University Athletics is seeking a highly motivated individual to serves as a Graduate Assistant, Assistant Coach for Sports Performance. The Coach will reports directly to the Head Sports Performance Coach and will assist in the sports performance programs for all of Averett’s competitive sports. Duties are, but not limited to, assisting the Head Sports Performance Coach in designing, implementing, conducting, and monitoring strength and conditioning programs for his/her assigned sports. The Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach will also work in conjunction with the Averett Sports Medicine Staff to coordinate rehabilitation of sports related injuries, the implementation of Return-to-Play Protocols, along with educating students about proper nutrition, hydration, and supplementation. Additional duties are to assist with coordinating, maintenance, and staffing of weight room/strength facilities; assist in identifying and purchasing needed strength and conditioning equipment,; assists in scheduling weight room times for his or her assigned sports teams. The successful candidate must be able to develop positive relationships with faculty, staff, and students while interacting successfully with department personnel and the University Community. Requirements for this position are: A bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related Health Science field from an accredited college or university, hold a current, nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification (NSCA – CSCS, CSCCa- SCCC, USAW, NCSF – CSC; CSCS preferred), be CPR/AED certified and be accepted into the Averett University Master’s Program. The start date for this position is January 4, 2021, but will remain open until filled. Graduates and future graduates will be given consideration for this position. South Dakota Mines: The South Dakota Mines Performance Department is accepting applications for a VOLUNTEER intern position for the SPRING 2021 semester. These are UNPAID positions. The ideal candidate should be seeking a career as a strength and conditioning coach. Candidates will be exposed to all facets of an NCAA Division II program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hands on experience assisting with the daily operations of the weight room, helping to create a positive training environment, completing the educational curriculum, and facility/equipment maintenance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, strong work ethic, great sense of urgency, high level of attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to build relationships with our staff and student-athletes. Candidates should be actively pursuing certification from the NSCA and/or CSCCa. Interns will receive instruction in – and be required to comply with – NCAA regulations and policies. Trinity College (CT): Trinity College is accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Interns for the Spring 2021 semester. Opportunities include: completion of volunteer hours for an academic degree program, assisting in the supervision and training of 30 Division III intercollegiate athletic programs and access to our strength and conditioning intern educational program. Preferred qualifications include: Matriculating through an exercise science or related academic program, current SCCC and/or CSCS certification, CPR certification and previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletics experience. Minimum qualifications include: pursuing SCCC and/or CSCS certification and the desire to further one’s career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. This is an unpaid position. Interns will receive an educational experience that will prepare them for a future career in college athletics.
