Mississippi State: The Mississippi State Football Strength and Conditioning program is now accepting applications for 1-2 volunteer interns for Spring 2021. These positions are UNPAID. Successful candidates will work directly with football and assist with all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. Position responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: assisting the staff in all aspects of the strength and speed programs, setting up and breaking down of training sessions, assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, assisting with nutrition, as well as other assigned duties. This internship program consists of a rigorous academic curriculum along with a practical component. Minimum requirements: a current CPR/AED certification, a strong work ethic, punctuality, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certifications, or experience as a collegiate athlete. Official start date will be in Early-January and end in Late-April. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. FAU: The FAU Football Strength and Conditioning Staff is looking to fill 3-4 VOLUNTEER (unpaid) internship positions for the Fall 2020 semester. Start and end dates will be Jan 4th– May. 15th. We are looking for eager and enthusiastic individuals with a strong desire to pursue a career as a strength and conditioning professional. You will gain invaluable experience at a C-USA, FBS Football program, working with elite level athletes and coaches. Qualified applicants will have obtained or be working towards a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, as well as possess or be working towards their CSCS or CSCCa certification. CPR/AED certification is preferred, and all qualified candidates must be able to pass a background check. Upon completion of the FAU Strength and Conditioning Intern Education Program you will be qualified to confidently sit for the CSCS. Daily duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to assisting with the implementation and supervision of strength and conditioning program for Football; active participation in the intern education program which will include completion of required readings, assignments, projects, demonstrations, meetings with the strength staff, and involvement with sports science such as GPS, Forceplate, and VBT; maintenance of the strength and conditioning facility and equipment; set-up and break- down of equipment for strength and conditioning sessions; other daily tasks as assigned by the Strength and Conditioning staff. East Tennessee State: The East Tennessee State University Basketball Sports Performance Department is looking to hire 2-3 highly motivated, passionate, and hardworking candidates for internship positions to be filled IMMEDIATELY and continue through the Spring 2021 semester. This position will be included in all activities on and off court for the ETSU Men’s or Women’s programs. This position will be utilized in a coaching, sports nutrition, sports science, and operational role for the 20-21 basketball season. This position will essentially be the right-hand man/woman to the Director and Assistant Director of Basketball Sport Performance at ETSU. *This is a non-monetarily compensated position; however, you will gain valuable experience in a basketball performance program, references for future employment in the field, gear and some meals when available, and assistance in finding lodging in Johnson City. Preferred qualifications: CSCS or SCCC certification (or working towards either certification), experience in stocking and purchasing sports nutrition products. Sacramento State: The Sacramento State University Football Strength and Conditioning Program is currently accepting applications for unpaid internships to begin Monday, January 25th, 2021 and go through Friday, May 14th, 2021. Applicants should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a related field. Completion of this internship can fulfill credit hours towards a program degree, SCCC certification, and potentially offer increased opportunities for advancement in the field of sports performance. Preferred qualifications include certification(s) from one or more of the following organizations: The CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), or USAW. Preferred qualifications also include previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching basic weight room exercises. This position is responsible for assisting the football strength and conditioning staff with the implementation of the fall in-season program, set up and break down of all training sessions, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training division-I collegiate athletes.
