William & Mary (FCS - VA): The College of William and Mary is seeking volunteer Strength and Conditioning interns for the Fall of 2023. This is an UNPAID position. Accepted applicants will receive practical hands-on experience in strength and conditioning at the Division 1 level, class credit (if applicable), the opportunity to participate in the intern education curriculum, and future professional recommendation and referral contingent upon performance. The approximate duration will be August 28 th to November 22 nd . Preferred Qualifications: SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certification (or in the process of obtaining any or all of the aforementioned certifications), previous coaching experience, First Aid/CPR/AED training, hunger & desire to become a strength and conditioning or sports science professional at the collegiate level, a STRONG work ethic, and effective communication/teamwork skills. Responsibilities: Assist full time coaches in implementing programs, set up and break down of training sessions, weight room maintenance and upkeep, execution of internship curriculum assignments and projects and any other tasks or projects assigned by staff as they arise. Responsibilities also include data collection with technologies such as Enode Pro, Dashr, NordBord, STATSports, First Beat and Gymaware. Cumberlands (NAIA - TN): Cumberlands University is looking to hire a head strength coach. The Strength and Conditioning Coach provides expertise, guidance, and training in the area of strength training and physical conditioning for all student-athletes and sports teams at Cumberland University. He or she must have a commitment to the mission of the university, the community and the student-athletes. A bachelor’s degree in strength training or related field is required. He or she should have strength training experience at the high school or collegiate level. The Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certification is required. East Tennessee State (FCS): East Tennessee State University is seeking hardworking and enthusiastic candidates to fill available UNPAID internship positions for the Fall 2023 (Sept. 1st - Dec. 6th) Semester. The successful candidates will receive hands-on coaching experience with competitive, championship caliber D-1 student athletes, assist with program design and testing protocols, sports-nutrition responsibilities, data collection and application, recovery methods and implementation, return to play protocols, and possibly internship academic credits (where applicable). Minimum qualifications: Currently enrolled in a sport-related field of study (Ex. Phys/Kines/Ex. Science/PE/Health), CPR/AED Certification, a strong work ethic, punctual, enthusiastic, and an effective communicator. Fordham (FCS - NY): Fordham University Strength and Conditioning is seeking 2-3 motivated candidates to fulfill our Fall Semester internship position. The position will run from August-December and is an UNPAID position. This position features experience with Division 1 programs, including Football and Basketball. Volunteers will have the opportunity to coach from day one, and will undergo a semester-long curriculum including weekly assignments and continuing education. Interested candidates Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree/pursuing a degree in exercise science or a related field and pursuing one of the following certifications: SCCC; CSCS or USAW and a CPR/AED First Aid certification. Utah: The University of Utah Football Sports Performance department is seeking volunteer interns for the Fall 2023. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in programing, coaching, VBT, GPS tracking and data management and study sessions for certification exams. Qualifications: Prior experience preferred (collegiate, private facility, personal training), Strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach, Certification/progressing toward certification by the CSCCa and/or NSCA, BS/MS or demonstrated coursework towards degree in exercise science or related field, Outstanding work ethic, character, and integrity Details of Fall Internship Program:  Start Date: (Aug 21st), 2023 • End Date: End of the Semester. (this date is negotiable) • Required completion of our Internship Curriculum. This curriculum includes programming projects to improve coaching ability on the floor, how to network within the profession and prepare for future job opportunities, CSCS exam preparation with full time staff. etc. Gain experience and the opportunity to learn and grow in the field of Strength & Conditioning at a Pac-12 University. Eastern University (D-III - PA): Eastern University is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Graduate Assistant Strength Coach to work within a growing athletic department. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for our student-athletes. This role is designed to help a graduate student learn and grow in the field of strength and conditioning while assisting our student-athletes in achieving their athletic potential. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement strength and conditioning programs for two-four athletic teams (to be determined). Candidates will have the opportunity to assist with Football and Basketball. Conduct regular training sessions for student-athletes and track their progress. Collaborate with the coaching staff to ensure that strength and conditioning programs are aligned with the goals of each team. Educate student-athletes on proper lifting techniques and injury prevention strategies. Assist with equipment maintenance and organization. Provide feedback to the coaching staff on the progress and needs of the student-athletes. Perform administrative tasks as needed, including organizing team schedules and coordinating with other departments. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or a related field. Current certification in CPR/AED and first aid. SCCC or CSCS preferred. Strong knowledge of strength and conditioning principles and practices. Experience working with collegiate athletes is preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, and other staff members. Compensation:
This position offers compensation in the form of 18 graduate-level credits per academic year and a stipend. The stipend amount will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
