Belhaven (D-III - MS): Belhaven University is currently looking for three Graduate Assistant (GA) Strength and Conditioning Coaches. Belhaven University, a Christ-centered university located in Jackson, MS, is receiving applications for the role of Graduate Assistant for Strength & Conditioning. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a successful, competitive NCAA Division III collegiate program, grounded in discipleship and mentoring. Belhaven is an NCAA Division III institution sponsoring eighteen sports programs and holding conference membership in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) and the USA South Conference (USAS). Belhaven University is also a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The Graduate Assistant is directly accountable to the Head Strength & Conditioning and is responsible for the leadership and development of student-athletes with the athletics program. This person will oversee the programing and training for 3-5 teams, with team assignments based on experience and fit. This staffer will also assist with football strength and conditioning. The Graduate Assistant is expected to provide an environment for the student-athlete to grow physically, spiritually and academically through lessons learned in the weight room, ultimately developing competitive readiness; directing the program within NCAA, CCS, and USAS rules and regulations; developing a schedule for competition and team community service activities; cultivating relationships with campus faculty and staff, as well as other duties assigned by supervisor. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated success in strength & conditioning, preferably at the collegiate level, as well as a Bachelor’s degree. Effective verbal and written communication skills; sound interpersonal skills in dealing with student-athletes, university personnel and members of the campus community. The successful candidate will work in a 10/month per year role for two years and will receive tuition remission in the Belhaven graduate program of their choice, as well as a $6000 stipend each year.
