Southeastern (NAIA - FL): Southeastern University is looking for a graduate assistant for strength and conditioning dept. starting the beginning of August or as close as possible. Austin Peay (FCS - TN): The Austin Peay Sports Performance Staff is currently accepting applications for a graduate assistant position. This is a two year position, and the applicant must be accepted into the University’s HHP (Health and Human Performance) Program. This position will assist with football as well as be responsible for 2-3 teams of their own. This position offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning. This will begin on August 1st 2023. Responsibilities will include; assisting the football strength and conditioning staff in the supervision and training of the Austin Peay football program; assist with daily administrative, cleaning, and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the position. Requirements for this position: Must poses a strong work ethic and a desire to learn the necessary skills to develop athletes. Must have a bachelor's degree with a GPA of 3.0 or better, preferably in an exercise science related field. Must be CPR/AED certified. Must have or be working towards a CSCS/SCCC/USAW certification. Emporia State (D-II - KS): Emporia State University is looking to hire two (2) strength and conditioning Graduate Assistants beginning in the Fall of 2023. These positions will begin August 13th, 2023, and run through the academic year. The positions include tuition waivers as well as a monthly stipend. The positions will have the opportunity to design and coach programs for assigned teams (based on experience) while also assisting with football and all other aspects of the strength and conditioning program. Rocky Mountain (NAIA): Rocky Mountain College is looking to hire a Stipend Strength and Conditioning Coach Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in the design and implementation of the strength and conditioning program with the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Teaches safe and effective lifting techniques, speed development, agility and conditioning exercise for the enhancement of athletic ability and prevention of injury. Supports and effectively communicates the strength and conditioning department’s philosophy and vision to the student-athlete and sport coaching staffs. Assists in maintaining the strength and conditioning equipment and facility. Opportunity to take over strength and conditioning for certain teams. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree Acknowledgment of the importance of nutrition in the development of the student-athlete and takes an active role to accomplish this. Ability to teach and design training programs that incorporate Olympic lifts. Thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with NAIA rules and regulations. Proven ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches and sports medicine staff. Demonstrates strong organizational skills and effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Experience in motivating student-athletes to achieve maximum levels of performance. Certification as a strength and conditioning coach (CSCS or NSCA) or must be able to obtain within one year of hire. Purchasing of certification will be covered by the Strength and Conditioning Department. Preferred Qualifications: Experience or a desire to work with weight room technology including programming software, bar velocity monitoring systems and GPS athlete tracking systems. Experience in a strength & conditioning program (High School or College). Experience with or the knowledge of the organization and administration of off-season intra-team competitions. Experience with or knowledge of any of the following nutritional areas: Campus Dining, Fueling Station Operation, Post-Game Meals and Post-Practice Meals and Caterings. Experience with learning and administering different systems and approaches to the training athletes and the daily operations of a strength and conditioning program.
