Lander University (SC): Lander University is looking to add to their strength staff. Candidates will be responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for selected teams (40%) as well as assisting full-time S&C staff if/when required (25%). Candidates will gain experience in all aspects of collegiate S&C, including program design and implementation (20%), interfacing with sport coaching and Sports Medicine staffs (10%), as well as facility scheduling and maintenance (5%). The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to be a collegiate S&C coach and will possess a strong work ethic, high character values, and a willingness to learn and grow. The position will begin approximately August 2021. Candidates must be accepted into a Graduate program at Lander before they are eligible for selection. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science/Physiology, Kinesiology, or Physical Education; Completion of at least one undergraduate internship experience; Candidates must possess NCAA recognized S&C credential (NSCA-CSCS or CSCCa-SCCC) as well as First Aid/CPR certification at the time of hire. Desired Qualifications: Completion of multiple internship experiences in collegiate strength and conditioning; Possession of USAW certification; Prior playing experience at the NCAA Division 1 or 2 level. Compensation: Selected candidate will receive a 50% tuition and fee waiver as well as a $3000 stipend per semester. Florida Atlantic: Florida Atlantic University’s Football Strength and Conditioning program is looking to fill 3-4 unpaid intern positions for the Spring and potentially Summer of 2021. Individuals that are hired will gain valuable knowledge of strength and conditioning via curriculum that is aimed to prepare them for the next step in their strength and conditioning career. Certification prep and various reading materials will be an integral part of this program, as well as hands on experience. Opportunities include the ability to work with performance monitoring technologies such as GPS monitoring systems, gaining an understanding of what it takes to run a Strength and Conditioning program, earning valuable recommendations for future job opportunities, and the ability to take part of a winning culture in paradise. Qualifications for the position are a strong work ethic, working knowledge of strength and conditioning, pursuing NSCA, CSCCA, or USAW certification, and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach. New Mexico: University of New Mexico Football athletic performance is currently accepting applications for the SPRING 2021 volunteer internship positions. These are positions for the SPRING 2021 training session Deadline to apply: Jan 24 th , 2021. Start date: Immediate. *With a Negative Covid Test result. * Qualified candidates would work with all facets of a NCAA Division 1 FBS FOOTBALL athletic performance program. This is an UNPAID position. However, the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. The position is responsible for assisting FOOTBALL athletic performance staff with the implementation of the program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (USAW, CSCS, CSCCa), previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. Albright College: Albright College Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for 3 Volunteer Interns for the Winter/Spring 2021. This is an UNPAID position. The intern will be assisting with a variety of strength and conditioning areas: athlete management, program design, exercise selection and cueing, Olympic lifting progressions and techniques, plyometric, speed and agility techniques, energy system development, and recovery methods. Hours will vary throughout the term and will be discussed further upon employment. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. All applicants should have, or be working towards an accredited certification (CSCS or SCCC). Robert Morris (FCS - PA): Robert Morris University is currently seeking qualified volunteer internship candidates for the 2021 Summer Term. The strength and conditioning program will run from May 17 (date flexible) to August 21. This is an unpaid position however, it is acceptable to have a part-time job to assist with personal finances. Chosen candidates can also have the opportunity to complete internship hours required for the CSCCa – SCCC exam under the mentorship of the Head Strength Coach. The daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning programs for Football & Basketball Programs, Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities, Data input and upkeep, Assist with Sport and S&C Camps, Professional development throughout the semester, Any other tasks assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting on the floor, education in program design and application, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable. Wagner (FCS - NY): Wagner College Sports Performance Staff is currently accepting applications for (2) Graduate Assistant positions starting SPRING 2021. The positions will directly work with teams as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance Kamali O’Brian.
