North Dakota State: North Dakota State University’s Strength and Conditioning department is seeking applicants for a Football Strength and Conditioning paid internship for the 2020 – 2021 school year (September 1 – May 31). Applicants will be compensated with a small monthly stipend. The goal of the internship is to provide a semesters worth of a hands-on learning experience. Candidates must have an interest in a career as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. They must also understand the importance nutrition plays in the development of student-athlete and be willing to assist in that role. Interns will learn by working side by side with football coaching staff and football strength/conditioning staff, as well as the players. Days will be long, demanding and fast-paced. Weekends may be required. A willingness to learn, a strong work ethic and the ability to take direction will be key to the individual’s success in this program. Knowledge and skills learned during this internship will help the individual become a viable candidate for graduate assistantships. Please include cumulative GPA on resume. MTI Prep (Postgrad - FL): The MTI Preparatory Football Strength and Conditioning Program located in Pompano Beach, FL, is currently seeking two qualified Volunteer Assistant Coach / Intern candidates for the 2020 Fall Term. The strength and conditioning program will begin Monday, August 10th, 2020 and go through Friday, November 27th, 2020. This is an UNPAID position. It is acceptable to have a part-time job to assist with personal finances. The daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assisting with the supervision and execution of the Strength and Conditioning Program for the Football program. Assisting with supervision and execution of the Strength and Conditioning Program for Olympic Sports programs. Volunteers/ Interns will be on the floor coaching daily. Game day operations and duties. Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities. Testing, data input, and maintenance of data. Professional development throughout the semester. Other tasks assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Volunteers/ Interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, education in coaching tactics, program design and application, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable. The internship program’s goal is to provide the tools necessary for advancement in a career in strength and conditioning. Minimum Qualifications: Strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm and effective communication skills, desire to become a strength and conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: Pursuing or have attained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology or related field, attainment of CPR, First Aid & AED certification, pursuing or have attained relevant certifications: CSCS, SCCC, USAW, FMS, etc., previous coaching experience in a collegiate, professional, high school or private sector setting, competitive collegiate athletic involvement.
