Liberty: The Liberty University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for the positions of VOLUNTEER INTERN for Summer Semester of 2023. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES will include but are not limited to assisting in the implementation of the Strength and Conditioning programs; set up and break down for daily activities, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and participation in the internship curriculum. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION, HOUSING, OR TRANSPORTATION will be provided, however, Interns will receive experience working in a Division 1 training environment and have the opportunity to earn recommendations for future career opportunities and/or receive college credit if applicable. The Intern’s level of ambition will determine the level of the learning experience. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a strong work ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Interns are expected to be punctual, enthusiastic, reliable, productive and consistent along with having the financial capability to hold the position for the duration of the internship. Ideal candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework earning and undergraduate degree in exercise science or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (NSCA, CSCS; CSCCa, SCCC; USAW) is preferred but not required. Texas State: Texas State University is currently accepting applications for SUMMER 2023 volunteer internship positions. These positions are May 29th- August 1st, with the opportunity to stay longer. Qualified candidates would work within all aspects of a NCAA Division 1 FBS FOOTBALL strength & conditioning program. This is an UNPAID position. However, the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as education in VBT, GPS, data management, program design, and S&C curriculum. The position is responsible for assisting the FOOTBALL strength & conditioning staff with implementation of the program, set up and break down of workouts, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and must possess a strong work ethic. South Carolina: The University of South Carolina Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Summer of 2023. We are looking to start the position June 2023; the internship will conclude at the end of the Summer semester with the opportunity to stay for the Fall. This is an unpaid position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for Football, set up and break down of daily training, routine maintenance/cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion, or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. All applicants should be working towards an accredited certification (CSCS or SCCC). Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. Weber State (FCS - UT): Weber State Sports Performance, a Division I university member of the Big Sky Conference, is actively seeking motivated individuals for the UNPAID internship program this SPRING 2023. There are 2-3 spots available with Football and other sports as able. The internship program will run from May 15th thru July 28th. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Sports Performance setting. Over the course of the semester interns can expect to work early morning, late afternoon, and/or weekend hours. As an intern you can expect to assist with all team training sessions. Gain valuable knowledge and experience via, exercise selection/progression/regression, facility management, and professional development assignments. You will also gain experience and knowledge with GPS, timing gates and velocity based equipment. The goal of the internship program is to develop the skills and coaching experience that prepare successful interns for graduate assistant positions at the conclusion of their time in the program. REQUIREMENTS: Graduate, or Undergraduate students working towards a degree in exercise science or related field, OR post graduate students looking to gain experience in a Division 1 setting. A strong desire to become a Sports Performance Professional at the Collegiate Level, ability to maintain a flexible and demanding schedule, effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Delaware Valley (D-III - PA): Delaware Valley University is in search of an Assistant Coach who specializes in Strength and Conditioning. The Assistant Coach will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of administering the football program, including sports performance, recruiting, and coaching a position. Murray State (FCS - KY): Murray State University Athletics Department is seeking a Graduate Assistant for the Strength and Conditioning Unit. The position will report directly to the Head Strength Coach with basic responsibilities to include the design and implementation of programs for assigned teams through teaching and instructing weight training and run prescription for specific athletic/sport demands and stressors. Successful applicant will take the lead role over teams to be determined in addition to assisting with Football and other teams as assigned. Bachelors Degree required plus possess a current certification through the NCSA (CSCS) or the CSCCa (SCCC). Candidate must also provide official documentation of admission into Murray State University Graduate School for the Fall 2023 Semester (offer/hire will be contingent on acceptance) and maintain required course-load while remaining in good academic standing. Compensation will include a combination of tuition waiver and stipend not to exceed a pre-determined allocation. Additional compensation will be determined at the discretion/need of the athletics department. Duquesne (D-I - PA): Duquesne University is now accepting applications to fill our summer 2023 internship positions. This is an unpaid, volunteer position offering hands-on Division I coaching experience with our 17 varsity sports as well as the opportunity for professional networking with any of our 5 full time Strength and Conditioning Coaches. Interns are expected to assist with the daily maintenance and administrative duties, assist in the set-up and break-down of each session, assist the strength and conditioning coach staff in coaching and spotting athletes, and dedicate additional time to complete the internship curriculum assignments. Duquesne Strength and Conditioning interns must be highly motivated individuals with a strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, and a high desire to learn. Interns who possess certifications from the NSCA, CSCCA, and/or USAW are preferred, but having such certifications is not required.
