Buffalo: The University at Buffalo (MAC) Football Strength and Conditioning Department is looking for 2-4 volunteer interns for the 2021 Spring Semester. All positions will be UNPAID. The successful candidates will assist with all daily duties as it pertains to Buffalo Football Strength and Conditioning including but not limited to: assisting with coaching, data tracking, data entry, fueling station management and any other duties as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning, Matt Gildersleeve. The expected start date will be February 1, 2021, and go until May 15, 2021. Texas: The University of Texas Football Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting Internship applications for the 2021 Winter/Spring Offseason Program. Responsibilities include assisting the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in all aspects of developing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility, mobility, and recovery protocols for the Football Team. Additional responsibilities will be to provide; daily weight room supervision, daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment, assist with and conduct performance and strength testing, completion of internship curriculum, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Applicants must have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should be enrolled in or completing their Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be certified in CPR/AED, and working towards certifications from any of the following organizations: NSCA, CSCCa, or USAW. Previous experience in an intercollegiate strength and conditioning program or athletics preferred. Position: This is a non-paid internship position. The successful applicant(s) will receive course credit towards graduation (if applicable) and Division I FBS / Big 12 Conference strength and conditioning experience. Mercer University (FCS- GA): Mercer University Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking applicants who are highly motivated to fill internship positions for the Spring of 2020 starting the week of January 11th, 2020 and going through May of 2020. This is an UNPAID, volunteer position. Interns will also have the chance to earn additional responsibilities. Academic credits can be applied towards an Exercise Science or related Undergraduate or Graduate program if necessary. With education through experience being our main goal, interns will be provided and challenged with the key qualities of success in the Strength and Conditioning field. This includes professional development and continuing education, daily opportunities to learn and grow as a leader, expansion of network connections, teaching student athletes’ proper lifting technique, and daily weight room maintenance. While working with Football, and all other Division I athletic programs, interns will gain practical coaching experience in accordance with the philosophy of the department and can begin to lay the groundwork for future opportunities with a consideration and recommendation for future employment. Qualifications include: strong work ethic, attention to detail, enthusiasm, effective communication skills, positive energy, willingness to work, Bachelor’s degree or a degree in process, hold certification(s) and/or seeking to get certified in at least one of the major certifications below. Preferences (but not limited to): CPR/AED/First Aid Certified, CSCS, SCCC, USAW. Northwestern State (FCS - LA): Northwestern State University is seeking a graduate assistant coach for strength and conditioning starting this January 2021. This position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of strength and conditioning for assigned teams. This position also entails assisting in the graduate assistantship program with any duties assigned by our Health and Human Performance Department, and duties assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Qualifications: (required) – Bachelor’s degree, previous strength and conditioning experience, strong work ethic; CPR/ AED certification. Currently possess Certification through NSCA or CSCCa. You will Receive a stipend that may be used for Tuition OR living expenses. If this is not feasible for you do not apply. Delaware State:
Delaware State University - department of Strength & Conditioning is accepting applications for 2 PAID Interns. Responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision and training of DSU's 18 Division1 intercollegiate athletic programs including Football; Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Qualifications include: Strong work ethic; Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Desire to further one's career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Preferred qualifications include: Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field; NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa-SCCC, or USAW certifications; CPR certification and coaching experience. Individuals chosen are subject to university background checks and standard hiring procedures. This position will allow the opportunity to receive experience working with all DSU's Division 1 programs, work under a staff of seasoned NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa-SCCC, USAW certified coaches, better understand program design, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
