Sam Houston State: The Sam Houston State University Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking qualified candidates to fill available internship positions for the Fall 2020 semester. This internship will tentatively begin August 24, 2020 and will tentatively conclude November 27, 2020. This is an unpaid position. Compensation will include gear, learning from approved mentors via the CSCCa and NSCA, meals on specific dats, and recommendations for future career opportunities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the Sam Houston State University Football team and possibly another sport, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related field of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. All applicants should have, or be working towards an accredited certification (CSCS or SCCC). Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. Cumberland (NAIA - TN): Cumberland University Strength & Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to assisting the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach with design and implementation of strength & conditioning programs, creation and implementation of training programs for assigned teams, supervision and instruction of team training sessions, data entry, maintenance and daily upkeep of facilities. Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in an Exercise Science or related field, current CSCS or SCCC certification, current CPR/AED certification, previous internship/coaching experience, acceptance into a Cumberland University graduate school program, desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning, strong work ethic, and an ability to work with Microsoft Office programs. Compensation: Includes tuition waiver, on-campus housing, meal plan, valuable field experience.
