Mississippi State: The Mississippi State Football Strength and Conditioning program is now accepting applications for 1-2 volunteer interns for Fall 2023. These positions are UNPAID. Successful candidates will work directly with football and assist with all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. Position responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: assisting the staff in all aspects of the strength and speed programs; assisting with Catapult GPS, Force Plates, and other performance tracking systems’ data collection and interpretation; setting up and breaking down of training sessions; assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities; assisting with nutrition; as well as other assigned duties. This internship program consists of a rigorous academic curriculum along with a practical component. Minimum requirements: a current CPR/AED certification, a strong work ethic, punctuality, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certifications, or experience as a collegiate athlete. Southeastern (NAIA - FL): Southeastern University has an immediate opening for a Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant. Responsibilities will include: design and implementation of training programs for assigned sports, assist with football training, and other weight room duties. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or a related field, be CPR/AED certified, and have a strong desire to pursue a career as a Strength & Conditioning coach. Compensation includes full tuition waiver, and $12,000 stipend per year. There is potential housing assistance depending on availability. The Strength and Conditioning Coach provides expertise, guidance, and training in the area of strength training and physical conditioning for all student-athletes and sports teams at Cumberland University. He or she must have a commitment to the mission of the university, the community and the student-athletes. A bachelor’s degree in strength training or related field is required. He or she should have strength training experience at the high school or collegiate level. The Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certification is required.
