South Dakota: South Dakota State University, is accepting applications for qualified, highly motivated Graduate Assistants in Strength and Conditioning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting in design and implementation of strength & conditioning programs for assigned sports; provide proper instruction for safe and effective lifting techniques and equipment usage; supervise weight room day-to-day activities and conduct periodic performance & strength testing; communicate regularly with sport coaches and sports medicine personnel. Qualifications: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in sports sciences or related field/major, CPR certification and be certified through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) or National Strength & Conditioning Association (CSCS). In order to be awarded the position the candidate must be admitted to graduate school at South Dakota State University. Compensation includes tuition waiver and stipend. Previous strength coaching experience preferred. Previous athletic experience preferred. Experience teaching the Olympic lifts preferred. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access strongly recommended. Consideration will be given to individuals who possess strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with integrity. The position will begin May 24th, 2021. Akron: The University of Akron has an immediate opening for a Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant. You must have a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology or related field and be accepted into the University of Akron’s Master’s program. Candidates must hold a current strength and conditioning certification (NSCA – CSCS, CSCCa- SCCC, USAW) and also be CPR/AED certified. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of training for multiple teams, as well as assisting with the training of other sports. This position includes tuition waiver and stipend. FAU: The FAU Football Strength and Conditioning Staff is looking to fill 3-4 VOLUNTEER (unpaid) internship positions for the Spring 2021 semester. Start and end dates will be January 4th – May 10th. We are looking for eager and enthusiastic individuals with a strong desire to pursue a career as a strength and conditioning professional. You will gain invaluable experience at a C-USA, FBS Football program, working with elite level athletes and coaches. Qualified applicants will have obtained or be working towards a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, as well as possess or be working towards their CSCS or CSCCa certification. CPR/AED certification is preferred, and all qualified candidates must be able to pass a background check. Upon completion of the FAU Strength and Conditioning Intern Education Program you will be qualified to confidently sit for the CSCS. Daily duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to assisting with the implementation and supervision of strength and conditioning program for Football; active participation in the intern education program which will include completion of required readings, assignments, projects, demonstrations, meetings with the strength staff, and involvement with sports science such as GPS, Force plate, and VBT; maintenance of the strength and conditioning facility and equipment; set-up and break- down of equipment for strength and conditioning sessions; other daily tasks as assigned by the Strength and Conditioning staff. Southern Miss: The University of Southern Mississippi Football Strength & Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2021. The duration of the internship is JAN 17th – May 1st, with the opportunity to stay longer. You will receive hands on experience with the Golden Eagle Football Team. This internship will prove to be invaluable for those interested or wanting to get started in the Strength & Conditioning profession. This is an UNPAID position. However, the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. This position would assist in the implementation of our program, set up and break down of all workouts and maintenance and upkeep of our weight room. Required qualifications include having or working towards a degree, a relentless work ethic, attention to detail, a desire to become a strength and conditioning coach and a great attitude. Preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized strength and conditioning association (USAW, CSCS, CSCCa), previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements.
