There had been chatter throughout the day that Jeremy Pruitt had found a landing spot in the NFL.
A report from Bruce Feldman earlier today stated that the former Vols head coach was working on a deal to join the Jets staff.
However, as the day has progressed multiple reports have shared that while Pruitt will be heading to New York, it will actually be to work on Joe Judge's staff with the Giants.
Mike Wilson and Dan Duggan were among those to share the news of Pruitt joining the Giants.
Joe Judge's staff in New York has become a safe haven of sorts for former Vols coaches.
Giants inside linebackers coach Kevin Sherrer joined the Giants staff just over a year ago after serving as the Vols defensive coordinator for season before moving to special teams coordinator and inside linebackers coach for Priutt from 2018-19.
Craig Fitzgerald is another former Vols staffer that spent the first two years of Pruitt's tenure in Knoxville with him as his director of football sports performance. Fitzgerald currently serves the director of strength and performance for the franchise.
The other former Vol on the staff? Wide receivers coach Derek Dooley.
Dooley led the Vols for three seasons, going 15-21 overall from 2010-12. He was let go with a game left in the 2012 season compiling seasons of 6-7, 5-7, and 4-7.
[Do yourself a favor and imagine Dooley offering to put Pruitt up while he looks for a place of his own.]
It is not yet clear what role Pruitt will have with the Giants, but he'll have a few guys with Knoxville & Alabama ties in New York to share stories and experiences with.
We note that Feldman did come back later this evening with a note saying "the Giants are a possibility".
