Alex Brown has been a key piece in Rhett Lashlee's success rebuilding the SMU program from a 7-win team in 2022 to 11-wins this past fall.
Brown joined the Mustangs staff as director of scouting in January of 2022.
About a year later Lashlee elevated Brown to senior director of personnel / general manager.
Now Brown is reportedly heading to the SEC to join Lane Kiffin's staff.
247 shares that Brown is expected to join Kiffin's staff in Oxford in a "high-ranking personnel and recruiting role."
Before joining the SMU staff, Brown spent three seasons at Rice and four seasons as part of the recruiting staff at Houston.
He also brings experience as a head scout for Optimum Scouting where he graded NFL Draft prospects for the Big 12 and SEC as well as FCS and smaller school programs.
