Kevin Johns is a veteran play caller with stops at a number of FBS programs.
According to a report today, Johns is set to join the staff of Brent Venables at Oklahoma in a support staff role.
247 shares that Johns, who spent the last two seasons as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Duke under Mike Elko, is joining the Sooners as an offensive analyst.
He has previous calls with a coordinator title at Northwestern, Indiana, Western Michigan, Texas Tech, and Memphis.
Outside of his time at Northwestern and Duke, Johns was brought into each of those roles under offensive-minded head coaches from Kevin Wilson (Indiana), to Tim Lester (WMU), Kliff Kingsbury (Texas Tech), and Mike Norvell (Memphis).
In Norman, he steps into an offensive staff room now led by Seth Littrell, who was promoted from an analyst role to offensive coordinator following the departure of Jeff Lebby to become the head coach at Mississippi State.
