The College Football Playoff Selection committee has announced the addition of coaching veteran Mike Riley.
The news was first reported this morning by ESPN's Heather Dinich.
Riley has held a number of head coaching roles at the NFL and college level including stops at Nebraska, and two stints leading the Beavers of Oregon State as well as a stint leading the San Diego Chargers.
He compiled a 93-30 mark in fourteen total seasons in Corvallis, and went 19-19 in three seasons leading the Huskers, which included a 9-4 campaign in his second season in Lincoln.
Most recently, he has been the head coach of the upstart San Antonio Commanders (AAF), and New Jersey Generals (USFL) with a stint as the offensive coordinator of the Seattle Dragons (XFL) in between those two stops.
He takes the place of Pat Chun, who recently left his post as the athletic director at Washington State for the same role at Washington.
The committee now includes a number of former successful head coaches that include Gary Pinkel (Toledo and Missouri), Jim Grobe (Ohio, Wake Forest, and Baylor) and Chris Ault (Nevada).
