Mike Norvell restructures contract, digs deep into own pocket to ensure best resources are provided (Mike Norvell)

After a historic drop off that saw the Seminoles go from 13-1 to just 2-10 in the matter of a season, Mike Norvell has hit the reset button in Tallahassee in more ways than one.

He decided to replace both coordinators, bringing in Gus Malzahn to run the offense moving forward and poaching Tony White from Nebraska as the new defensive coordinator in addition to a number of changes in the assistant coaching ranks.

Now Norvell is also reportedly digging deep into his own pocket to ensure a quick turnaround as well.

The school has announced Norvell has restructured his contract and also committed a one-time $4.5 million contribution that is set to launch the athletic department's Vision of Excellence campaign.

The initiative is a partnership with Seminole Boosters aimed at providing elite resources to student-athletes across all of Florida State's sports.

While full details have not yet been provided, the Tallahassee Democrat adds that Norvell can earn back his contribution in the form of performance incentives.

Norvell signed a contract extension back in January that made him the sixth highest paid coach in college football, set to keep him in Tallahassee through the 2031 season.

We will share details of his restructured deal when more information is shared.

Just a few days ago, Brian Kelly also dug into his own pocket to improve funding for his team, offering to donate up to $1 million to LSU's NIL fund.
