Earlier this off seasons Mack Brown and North Carolina lost offensive coordinator Phil Longo to Wisconsin, and today brings word that Mack will have to replace another key position on his staff.
John Lilly, who spent the last three seasons on the Tar Heels staff and last year held the title of run game coordinator / tight ends coach, is leaving to join Frank Reich's staff in Carolina.
There, he will coach the tight ends for the Panthers.
Before joining the UNC staff, Lilly coached the tight ends for the Cleveland Browns.
He has previous stops in college football in various roles at Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida State and also spent a season coaching the tight ends for the Rams.
