Typically, when a program awards a walk on with a scholarship, it's because they've got open scholarships to give.
Well what happens when there's a deserving walk on, but no open scholarships?
That's what happened at Chris Creighton's program when a special kid with a scholarship already, walked into Creighton's office willing and prepared to give his free ride up to a deserving walk on within his position group.
That scholarship guy was graduate student Brian Dooley, and in a special moment set up during a team meeting, he hand delivered his scholarship to senior walk-on offensive lineman Zack Conti.
