Bill Belichick fined $50,000 for OTA violations (Bill Belichick)

The NFL has fined Bill Belichick $50,000 for violating the NFL's OTA policy, according to multiple reports on Thursday.

It was already reported that the Patriots will lose two OTA practice days during the violation. The first of those two practices was scheduled to be today.

According to Pro Football Talk, the violation occurred because the Patriots placed a 15-minute special teams meeting on the team's internal schedule earlier this spring. In the eyes of the NFLPA, placing a meeting on a schedule such as that upgrades it from optional to mandatory, which was not permissible at that point in the schedule.

Given that Belichick earns an estimated $20 million per year, the $50,000 fine amounts to a 0.25 percent dock in pay. He'd undoubtedly rather have the two OTAs back than the 50 grand.
