Baylor on Monday announced a number of off-field hires for Dave Aranda's first coaching staff.
Larry McDonald has been announced as assistant AD for football recruiting. McDonald worked previously as the director of recruiting, and also held a similar role at Arkansas prior to that.
Also joining the recruiting department is director of on-campus recruiting Landrie Walsh; she was previously a recruiting assistant at Texas A&M.
McDonald and Walsh follow Austin Thomas, who was previously announced as Baylor's senior associate AD for football after serving as A&M's associate AD for football personnel for the previous year and a half.
Additionally, Quintin Jordan has been retained from the previous staff. Jordan served as the director of football administration on Matt Rhule's staff, but has been promoted to director of football operations under the Aranda administration.
Finally, Baylor has hired four quality control assistants: Jake Brown (offense), Zachary Crabtree (offense), Mike Caputo (defense) and Aman Anand (special teams).
Brown was previously the offensive coordinator at West Texas A&M and coached prior to that at TCU, Stephen F. Austin and in Texas high schools.
Crabtree was an All-Big 12 offensive lineman at Oklahoma State and played for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2018.
Caputo was an All-American safety under Aranda at Wisconsin in 2014 and served as a defensive GA at LSU in 2017-18. He served as Utah State's safeties coach in 2019. Anand served as a special teams quality control at Penn State in 2019 and coached previously at Memphis, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Utah State and Northern Arizona.
