Auburn's Wes McGriff reportedly headed to Texas A&M (Texas A&M)

Following their 31-13 loss to Maryland in the Music City Bowl to drop to 6-7 on the year, Auburn is reportedly losing a defensive member of their staff.

Wes McGriff, who coached the secondary for the Tigers, is heading to Texas A&M to join Mike Elko's staff as defensive backs coach, per multiple reports.

The 2023 season marked McGriff's third stint on The Plains, previously coaching for the program in 2016 and again from 2019-20.

McGriff had previous recent experience coaching the secondary at Louisville and Florida and served as the defensive coordinator at Ole Miss for the 2017-18 seasons.

Earlier in his career he spent time with the New Orleans Saints, and with programs at Miami and Vanderbilt.

The move likely opens a spot on staff for Colorado defensive coordinator Charles Kelly, who it was reported yesterday was heading back to his alma mater to join the defensive staff.
