Special accomplishments call for special celebrations.
That's what came to mind for me when I first set eyes on the post game celebration at Charlotte.
A 24-13 win over Marshall on Saturday pushed the team's record to 6-5, making them bowl eligible for the first time in school history. For a program that played their first full season in 2013 (at the FCS level), led by a first-year head coach in Will Healy, the win was a program-defining moment that will not soon be forgotten. Charlotte was first bowl-eligible in 2016.
Of course, the win led to students storming the field, but it also made for a really unique post game celebration in the locker room.
On video, Healy can be seen crowd surfing on players while shirtless, complete with the mascot head on. He wears it for a bit before whipping it off to continue celebrating. The lighting makes the whole scene look like a Miami nightclub.
Like I said in the opening sentence: special accomplishments call for special celebrations. Check out the video...it's quite a sight.
Healy and his squad wrap up the season against Old Dominion this weekend.
