In state title games, one can only hope that the two best teams in the state meet for an epic battle for the ages where each team leaves everything they have on the field for the opportunity to bring a state title home.
That seems to be exactly what happened in the Hawaii Division II state title game between Lahainaluna HS and Konawaena HS.
The two teams were in a slug fest, ending regulation knotted up at 31 a piece. Then it got even crazier when they advanced into overtime. Lahainaluna and Konawaena had to go through 7 overtimes to settle this one!
The final score when it was all said and done was 75-69 Lahainaluna.
