Illinois: The Illini have announced the additions of John Marinelli (senior analyst), Adam Kleffner (offensive analyst), Grant O'Brien (defensive analyst), Greg Froelich (special teams analyst). Kleffner spent last season at Stephen F. Austin (FCS - TX) as an offensive assistant and previously spent a season as the assistant offensive line coach for the Dallas Cowboys, O'Brien spent the past three seasons as a defensive quality control analyst at Missouri, and Froelich spent the last few seasons at Michigan as special teams and running backs analyst.

Vanderbilt: Clark Lea believes he’s leading a program at Vanderbilt that has “never been given a chance to develop.”

The Gap Double Toolbox vs. Odd Nose:Like most conferences these days, the New Jersey Athletic Conference (Division 3) is stocked full of Odd Front operations. For good reason: a physical Nose can be a continual nuisance in attaining the A gap entry points needed to efficiently run gap schemes. This is why at Rowan University (NJ) offensive line coach/run game coordinator Tom Doddy segments his Center/Guard gap double teaching to handle all possible stagnant and movement scenarios associated with Odd defense. In an exclusive clinic report with X&O Labs, Coach Doddy details the 8 drills he uses to teach blocking an Odd Nose which include work-throughs of the following common progressions: backside linebacker scrapes over the top, Nose spiking in either A gap and play-side linebacker run throughs. X&O Labs will email these 8 drills next Tuesday to their 60,000 readers—and you can get it sent to your email, too (FREE). Go here to get on the list.
