FAU: Florida Atlantic Owls Strength and Conditioning is currently accepting applications for volunteer internship positions. Report date isMay 15th and will run through the end of July. These are unpaid positions. Candidates should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS and current CPR/AED certification. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a strong desire to pursue collegiate strength and conditioning. Candidates will have opportunities to work with Football and with other Olympic Sports if desired and complete weekly assignments as part of the internship curriculum. Gardner-Webb: The Gardner-Webb University Athletic Performance Department is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant (GA). Gardner-Webb University is a private, Christian, Baptist-related university in Boiling Springs, NC home to 22 NCAA Division I Athletics Programs. This position provides tuition remission for up to 18 graduate hours per year as well as a grant for $5500 spread throughout the year, for a full-year contract (fall, spring, and summer terms). You must be accepted into the Gardner-Webb Graduate School prior to employment. The position is subject to a university background check. Intended start date is August 2017. Successful applicants should have the ability to excel within a collaborative team environment; strong work ethic; effective communication skills; & desire to further one’s career in the field of Athletic Performance/Strength & Conditioning while having a strong commitment to Christian higher education. Responsibilities: Assisting in all aspects of the Gardner-Webb Athletic Performance program, design and implementation of sport specific training programs for 3-4 assigned sports teams; ability to effectively teach and execute proper technique of lifts and drills; supervision of team workouts; assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the Athletic Performance Facility & compliance with all appropriate university, Big South Conference, and NCAA Rules/Regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required as well as working toward or already obtained a certification from an accredited strength and conditioning organization (NSCA, USAW, CSCCa, etc.). Possess CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Experience working in a NCAA/NAIA 4- year college or university weight room with a variety of teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs & Athletic Performance/Strength & Conditioning related technology is encouraged.
