Sources: Richmond hiring Harvard staffer, former All-Big Ten OL to offensive post (Russ Huesman)

Keegan Kennedy, a former All-Big Ten Conference offensive linemen during his playing career under Pat Fitzgerald at Northwestern, is exiting the Ivy League, sources tell FootballScoop.

Kennedy will depart Harvard, where he's been the Crimson's offensive line coach and running game coordinator, to take over the offensive line at Richmond under veteran coach Russ Huesman, per sources.

Having spent the past five years on staff Harvard, Kennedy makes the move to Richmond after also logging previous stints on staffs at Rhode Island and Central Florida.

Kennedy's Harvard offensive lines were repeatedly among the best in the Ivy League and also shined across the FCS landscape; the Crimson topped the Ivy League in rushing in 2023 as Harvard captured the league championship.

Ivy League teams do not participate in the FCS Playoffs.

At UCF, Kennedy climbed the ranks from graduate assistant coach into a full-time, on-field assistant who worked with the Knights's H-backs and tight ends.

Kennedy launched his coaching career at storied NCAA Division III program John Carroll.

Richmond opens its 2024 season at Virginia Aug. 31 in a Commonwealth showdown, followed a week later by a visit from Wofford in an FCS non-conference tilt.
