After three seasons leading the program, sources tell FootballScoop that Marty Fine has stepped down as head coach at New Mexico Highlands.
The program finished 2-9 this fall. In his first two seasons, he led the program to finishes of 2-9 in 2017 before a 4-7 mark in 2018. The four-win season was a record for the most wins the program had dating back to 2012.
Before taking the NMHU job, Fine had a successful run as the head coach at Bryant (FCS - RI), where he transition the team to the Division I level. Fine served as Bryant's head coach from 2004-2016, accumulating an 80-61 record.
Previous coaching stops for Fine as an assistant include Iowa State, Indiana, Colgate, and Indiana State and he spent a few years as the head coach at Sonoma State in the late 80's.
