Jack Abercrombie ended up as part of a transitional 2022 season of football at Virginia Military Institute.
Now Abercrombie is returning to the program he left to join the Keydets: the University of Missouri.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Abercrombie is returning to Eli Drinkwitz's Tigers' program as an offensive analyst.
Abercrombie owns previous experience at Missouri, Mississippi State and VMI after playing collegiately at California (Penn.).
In addition to coaching at his alma mater, Abercrombie also has coached at the University of Findlay and Gannon University -- but only after Abercrombie earned NFL looks from multiple teams despite his small-college background.
Missouri is coming off a bowl season under Drinkwitz and enters the 2023 season set to begin its campaign with a trio of home games against South Dakota, MTSU and Kansas State -- before a "neutral site" contest against Memphis in St. Louis.
The Tigers open Southeastern Conference play Sept. 30 at Vanderbilt.
