Source: UW-Whitewater finds new offensive coordinator with multiple Division I stops (Caden Murphy)

Very few programs at any level of college football have had the consistency that UW-Whitewater (D-III) has enjoyed for decades.

In his first season leading the program in 2023, after taking over the program in February earlier that year, Jace Rindahl went 11-2 overall. He  that up with a 6-4 campaign this past year, but is now making a few key hires that will chart the future of the program.

Heading into year three, Rindahl has been tasked with replacing coordinators on both sides of the ball. After parting ways with both offensive coordinator Nick Pesik and offensive line coach Timothy Shields at the end of last season, defensive coordinator Marcus McLin left the program in late January for FCS power South Dakota State.

The program's search for a new offensive coordinator is coming to a close, we're told.

Sources tell FootballScoop Caden Murphy, who served as the offensive coordinator at Midland University (NAIA - NE) the past two seasons, is set to take the reigns of the offense for the historic program.

Murphy brings Division I coaching experience to his new role with the Division III power, previously coaching the quarterbacks at Butler (FCS - IN).

While at Butler, he mentored Bret Bushka, who was named the Pioneer League Offensive Player of the Year.

Before joining the Butler staff, Murphy spent two seasons at Temple working on the defensive staff as a graduate assistant and got his start in coaching as a student assistant under Rod Carey at Northern Illinois, where he primarily worked with the program's quarterbacks.
