Alabama co-defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi is expected to be promoted to the defensive coordinator post vacated with Jeremy Pruitt's departure to Tennessee, per a tweet from Matt Zenitz.
AL.com adds that Pete Golding will likely hold the title of co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach.
Lupoi originally joined the staff in 2014 as a defensive analyst after building a name for himself as one of the nation's top recruiters at Washington and Cal.
While this will mark Lupoi's first venture into play calling territory, he's had some time to learn under some of the best in the game in Saban, Pruitt, and Kirby Smart the past few seasons, and something tells me Saban won't hesitate to make suggestions throughout the week and some rather enthusiastic suggestions on game day.
